Nepal GPA Calculator — Custom Grading

CUSTOM GRADING • YOUR SCHOOL’S RULE

Not an official NEB result. Verify your school’s rule; A–F values are examples.

Subject 1
Configure custom grading policy

Use already-established subject grades. This tool does not turn marks into NEB grades, certify a pass or substitute a numeric zero for NG. Up to 30 subjects, 30 credit hours per subject and two decimal places for points/credits.

Calculate a weighted GPA using your school’s grade points and credits. Custom grading for Nepal study planning; not an official NEB result.

How to use Nepal GPA Calculator — Custom Grading

Supply your school’s grading rule and subject credits to calculate a custom weighted GPA. The tool does not convert marks into official NEB grades or determine a pass. Verify the rule for your course and exam year before using the result.

  1. Open the custom grading policy and set the labels, points and maximum to the rule your school has verified. The initial A–F values are examples, not an NEB policy.
  2. Add each subject, select its grade and enter the appropriate credit hours. Remove unused subjects.
  3. Calculate and inspect the subject-wise weighted points. Copy the result with its Custom—not official NEB label. NG entries require school guidance and do not produce a numeric result here.

Calculation rules and sources

Weighted GPA = sum(subject grade points × subject credits) ÷ sum(subject credits). Every entered subject is included. The shared tested GPA engine uses integer-scaled two-decimal inputs, retains unrounded quality points and displays GPA to three decimal places. Supported limits are 30 subjects, up to 30 credits each, 2–20 unique custom grades and a maximum grade point up to 10. There is no automatic marks-to-grade mapping, theory/practical aggregation, grade-improvement rule, certificate issuance or pass determination. Information stays in browser memory.

Policy sources reviewed: CDC’s Letter Grading Directive 2078 catalogue and NEB’s Grade 10 supplementary-results notice. These references are not a claim that this custom calculator implements their complete rules.

Practical questions

Which official NEB policy does this implement?

None in this release. Official CDC and NEB publications were consulted, but a complete applicable policy across requested academic levels and examination years was not established. The interface therefore stays explicitly in custom mode.

Why not convert total marks directly to GPA?

Official processes can apply separate component requirements and year-specific rules. A weighted average of custom grade points cannot establish those conditions from total marks alone.

Can I compare results from different scales?

Only with an independently verified interpretation of both policies. Changing a scale maximum does not automatically rescale grade points or make two qualifications equivalent.

Practical examples

A custom weighted example

Input
Grade A = 4 for 3 credits; B = 3 for 1 credit
Result
Custom GPA 3.750

Quality points are 12 + 3, divided by 4 credits. These illustrative labels do not establish an NEB grading scale.

An edited grade mapping

Input
Custom X = 3.6 for 2 credits; Y = 3.2 for 3 credits
Result
Custom GPA 3.360

The result uses the point values you supplied. Verify whether that mapping applies to your academic level and examination year.

NG is not zero

Input
One subject selected as NG
Result
No numeric GPA returned

Treating NG as zero, or dropping the subject, could misrepresent an official result. Ask your school how the record must be handled.
