Pakistan GPA / CGPA Calculator

Calculate semester GPA and cumulative CGPA from courses and credit hours, with an editable grading scale, exclusions and a transparent weighted breakdown.

CREDIT-WEIGHTED ACADEMIC PLANNER

The starting A–F scale is illustrative. Edit it to match your university before calculating. Repeat-course and pass/fail policies are not inferred.

Configure grading scale

Use 2–20 unique grade labels and points from 0 to your scale maximum (maximum 10). A failing grade of zero counts toward the denominator unless explicitly excluded by your policy.

How to use Pakistan GPA / CGPA Calculator

Build a semester-by-semester view of your academic record. A three-credit course contributes three times as much as a one-credit course at the same grade point. Configure your university’s scale first, then decide which courses its repeat, withdrawal and pass/fail policies include.

  1. Open Configure grading scale and replace the illustrative labels and points with your university’s policy. Set the scale maximum.
  2. Add courses with credit hours and grades. Add semesters for a cumulative calculation; remove unused rows.
  3. Explicitly exclude courses that your policy leaves out, then calculate. Review each course’s quality points and each semester’s GPA.

Calculation explanation

Course quality points = credit hours × grade points. Semester GPA = included semester quality points ÷ included semester credits. CGPA uses total quality points ÷ total included credits across all semesters, without rounding semester GPAs first. Inputs support two decimal places; calculations retain their integer-scaled products and display GPA to three decimal places. Up to 12 semesters, 30 courses per semester, 20 grade labels and 30 credits per course are supported. No grades or subjects are uploaded or saved.

Practical questions

Is the starting scale used by every Pakistani university?

No. It is only an editable illustration. Universities can use plus/minus grades, different point mappings, credit policies and rounding conventions.

How should I handle a repeated course?

Follow your university’s repeat policy. Include or exclude attempts explicitly; the calculator does not replace an earlier attempt just because the subject names match.

Does an F grade count?

An included zero-point course contributes its credit hours but no quality points. Excluding it removes both from the calculation, so do that only when your policy requires it.

Practical examples

Unequal course weights

Input
A = 4 points for 3 credits; B = 3 points for 1 credit
Result
GPA 3.750 from 15 ÷ 4

The one-credit course does not carry the same weight as the three-credit course.

Cumulative calculation

Input
First semester: 15 points / 4 credits; second: 2 points / 1 credit
Result
CGPA 3.400 from 17 ÷ 5

A simple average of semester GPAs would give 2.875 and would be wrong for these unequal credits.

Custom five-point scale

Input
Grade X = 5 points for 2 credits; Y = 4 for 3 credits
Result
GPA 4.400 on a maximum-5 scale

Edit the grade mapping as well as the maximum. Changing the maximum alone does not rescale existing grade points.
