Why checking your SEO Title is important
Your SEO title (also known as the meta title or title tag) is the first thing users see when your website appears in Google search results. It is also one of the most critical on-page SEO ranking factors. A strong title does two things:
- It tells search engines exactly what your page is about.
- It convinces humans to click on your link instead of the competitors.
If your title is too long, Google will truncate it with an ellipsis (...), which can hide important keywords and reduce your Click-Through Rate (CTR). If it is too short, you might be missing out on valuable "long-tail" keywords that could bring you free traffic.
What makes a perfect SEO title?
- Optimal Length: Keep it between 50 and 60 characters.
- Primary Keyword: Include your main target keyword as close to the beginning of the title as possible.
- Power Words: Use words like Guide, Review, Free, Best, Simple to show value.
- Numbers: Titles with numbers (e.g., Top 10... or Guide for 2026) mathematically receive higher click rates.
- Brand Name: If you have extra space, include your brand name at the end (e.g., - TechIdea).
