What is an AI Agent?

Let's say you want to book a flight. If you ask a standard AI chatbot, it might give you a list of websites or tell you the average price. But an AI Agent is different. An AI agent is like an elite travel concierge.

Instead of just talking to you, an AI agent takes action. You say, "Book me a flight to New York for next Tuesday," and the agent goes to work. It figures out what needs to be done, logs into the airline system, selects the best flight based on your preferences, and clicks "buy."

While models like ChatGPT generate text, AI agents generate actions. They have a goal, and they operate autonomously to achieve it. Imagine you own a bakery. A regular AI could write your marketing emails. An AI agent could analyze your inventory, realize you're low on flour, draft an order to your supplier, and send it—all without you lifting a finger.
